Chapter Life

Welcome to Young People in Recovery (YPR), Redding Chapter

At the Redding Chapter of Young People in Recovery, we believe in supporting not only those in recovery but also those seeking recovery and their allies. We proudly advocate for all pathways to recovery, welcoming individuals from all walks of life—because recovery is a journey that everyone deserves the opportunity to explore, no matter their age.

My name is Kevin Reed, and I’m in long-term recovery. As the chapter coordinator, I’m passionate about helping people reclaim who they were always meant to be as they walk down the road of recovery from substance use disorders. In joining our chapter, you’ll quickly learn that recovery is more than just attending meetings. It’s about connection, purpose, fun, and building meaningful relationships that will enrich your life.

You’ll often find me and some of our incredible chapter leaders, including Joni Reed, Chris Smith, and Joe Lee, at many of our chapter events. These events include weekly All Recovery Meetings, which can be found on the national calendar, and a wide variety of pro-social gatherings, workshops, and advocacy efforts.

Some of the exciting things we’ve done in the past include BBQs at the lake, bowling, baseball games, cornhole, axe throwing, trivia nights, game nights, and more. We’re also dedicated to community service, engaging in Narcan outreach, advocacy events, rallies, and other opportunities to give back.

At the Redding Chapter, recovery isn’t just a journey—it’s an opportunity to rediscover yourself, connect with others, and build a life full of purpose, joy, and support. We can’t wait for you to join us and become a part of our growing community.

Let’s build a brighter future—together.
