Chapter Life

Welcome to the San Francisco Chapter of Young People in Recovery (YPR)

At the San Francisco Chapter of Young People in Recovery, we believe in supporting not only individuals already in recovery but also those seeking recovery and the allies who stand by them. We proudly advocate for all pathways to recovery, welcoming individuals from every background—because everyone deserves the opportunity to embark on this journey, regardless of age or experience.

My name is Elijah Virachittevin, a Clinical Psychology Doctoral Student deeply passionate about supporting individuals affected by addiction. As Chapter Coordinator, my goal is to help people reconnect with who they were always meant to be as they navigate the path to recovery from substance use disorders. When you join our chapter, you’ll quickly find that recovery is about so much more than attending meetings; it’s about building connections, finding purpose, having fun, and creating relationships that truly enrich your life.

Founded in 2010, YPR has positively impacted thousands of individuals across the United States. Here in San Francisco, we have the unique opportunity to create a welcoming community where no one feels they have to face the journey of recovery alone. Our chapter is designed to be a safe space where individuals can connect, heal, and rediscover their true selves.

At the San Francisco Chapter, recovery is more than just a journey—it’s a chance to redefine your life, build lasting relationships, and find fulfillment, joy, and support. We look forward to welcoming you into our growing community.

Together, let’s build a brighter future.
